Community Engagement Series
Previously known as UBM’s NGO Events, the Community Engagement Series comprises a set of unique, free events that bring together not-for-profits, social enterprises, business leaders and corporate responsibility professionals to share, learn and connect. Specifically the events provide a forum for the not-for-profit community to network, to share best practice, to raise their profile and to build partnerships with business.
These events form a key component of how we at UBM operate as a responsible, sustainable business and they are our most significant community investment in terms of time, money and resources.
We believe that the best way for us to support the communities in which we do business is by doing what we do best – running events. Our Community Engagement events allow us to harness the commercial and professional expertise of our employees and business partners in a not-for-profit environment so that we can make a real difference. The Community Engagement Series has the personal commitment of UBM’s Chief Executive, David Levin, who is its sponsor at Board level.
Launched in Brazil in 2009 the Community Engagement Series now also comprises events in India, the UK and, from this year, the USA.
Since its first edition in 2009, the ONG Brasil event has more than doubled in size and become a fixture in the voluntary sector calendar with more than 500 NGOs and social enterprise exhibitors, 1,200 conference delegates and 10,500 visitors attending last year’s event.
2012 also saw the launch of NGO India in Delhi (the 2013 event will be held in Mumbai) with 200 NGOs exhibiting, 400 conference delegates and a total of 2,400 visitors, while the second edition of Responsible Business UK (re-branded as Business4Better UK for 2013) welcomed over 200 exhibitors, 500 conference delegates and 2,000 visitors.
